Treatment of Vaginal Inflammation in Dogs. Red swollen vulva (or one side) may be caused by hormones (after being in head), infection, trauma, tumours, irritation or other injury. You should ensure the affected area around the vulva is kept clean but if the area is really dry you should visit your Veterinarian for an examination to be.
Dogs who have not been spayed may develop a mass of dark pink or red swollen tissue that protrudes from the vulva—a condition that goes by the name vaginal hyperplasia. The tissue swelling that causes this should resolve when the dog goes out of heat or when she is spayed.
Feb 01, 2010 · I have a female dog that has a red and inflamed vulva area. I had her checked by two different vets. Blood and urine tests were run. See doesn't have anything wrong. They said because of her body type and excessive hair around the area her urine doesn't dry and instead it stays burns the area. Is there anything I can do besides wash her everyday?
